Hàu èm t’áu:yà?
This is an ode to my family, loved ones, my lineage, my life, through my own thoughts and story. Through metaphor, deep mapping/narration, I begin to lay out the fabric for you to layer, stitch, rip… using my said personal experience/history as an example to rethink our positions in the world — our environment, family, community. Words and expressions that are explicit to where I am from, people I was raised around, narrating their own experiences and viewpoints in relation to Hàu èm t’áu:yà? whilst establishing a sense of place, identity, culture. Pertaining to indigenous modes of praxis, ideology, technology that are amply found in my hometown of Anadarko, Oklahoma — whilst practicing modern technologies and tectonics found within Architecture and Design. More explicitly, using instances such as Water, Plants, Agriculture, Soil/Earth, to address pertinent issues but also act as needle and thread - relating these said instances to pedagogies and subject matter relevant to society and culture.
